FunAlicante
Costa Blanca, made easy for everyone
Family days out and easy adventures, with the practical details you need before you leave. We look up the things that decide whether a day works for your group: opening hours, what it costs, whether there’s an accessible beach point, how you get there without a car. When we haven’t been able to check something yet, we tell you so rather than guess.
Explore by area
Alicante city
Castle on the hill, a palm-lined seafront, a city beach a short walk from the Explanada, and a cluster of museums, several of them free. It’s the easiest base for a car-free day.
Playa de San Juan and the north beaches
Kilometres of sand at San Juan (details), the sheltered bay at Albufereta (details) and the Roman remains of Lucentum (details) above it. This is where the surf schools are, with lessons on San Juan beach (details, details).
Benidorm
There’s more here than the skyline. You’ll find two long Blue Flag beaches, the small Mal Pas cove below the old town, boats to Benidorm Island, an accessible clifftop route through Serra Gelada, and the big parks: Aqualandia, Mundomar and Terra Natura.
Torrevieja and La Mata
Long beaches, including La Mata at about 2.4 km (details), a salt lagoon that really is pink (details), and a navy submarine your kids can walk through (details). At the time of writing the pink lagoon can only be visited on the tourist train.
Inland: Guadalest, Algar and the hills
Mountain villages, waterfalls and a drive-through safari park, Safari Aitana (details). There’s also a full-day coach tour from Alicante covering Guadalest, Altea and Fuentes del Algar (details). Where we haven’t checked public transport yet, we say so.

How we research
- Official sources first. Hours, prices and access notes come from the venue’s own website, the town hall or the official tourism office, and we name the source next to the fact.
- Dated checks. Every place carries a “last verified” date. Everything on this page was last checked on 14 October 2026.
- Clear flags. If a place has only a third-party source so far, we mark it “Check before you go”. If we don’t know something (pram access, shade, toilets), we write “Not verified yet” instead of guessing.
- No invented details. We don’t make up prices, opening times, facilities or travel times. When a season ends or an official page changes, the details change with it.
- Translations. Our Spanish, Dutch, French, German and Polish pages started as machine translations. Native speakers are reviewing them over time, and we’ll say on each page once that’s happened.
Spotted something out of date? Tell us. Corrections from families on the ground are the most useful thing we get.
Stay in the loop
Now and then we send a short email when we add new days out, when a season opens or closes, or when we’ve checked something families keep asking about. No hype, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
